Science Fair

Shannon and a friend recently participated in the school science fair. Like most elementary aged kids, Shannon wanted to do a project on volcanoes.  It's all about the eruption. So a volcano it was, and the girls had fun building the volcano, experimenting, and making posters to explain and document their work.
In our school district the elementary level is judged to allow the students to know how well they did on their projects but no awards are given for places. Judging for places or specific awards will begin at the middle school in 5th grade.  The kids do receive a participation certificate and a medal.  The science fair was fun, but I'm glad it's over even though my rock of husband did most of the work with the girls!
