A little Harvest

The kids and I went out to harvest a few things from the garden today. They, oh alright me too, were very excited to help with this part. I wish they would help me weed the garden. I have to admit that I thought of the story about the hen who asked for help from those around her, and never got any. I followed that little ol' hen's example and shared my harvest with my little "non" helpers anyway.
As you can see it not a bad first gathering. We had the broccoli for dinner tonight, and the herbs (basil, parsley, cilantro, chives, and rosemary) smell so wonderful sitting in a big metal bowl on our kitchen counter. The garden is doing wonderful, and we are looking forward to many, many more veggies. You better lock you car doors in the church parking lot (for reasons other than the fabulous neighborhood our building is located) because you may just get a back seat full of zucchini and such. LOL! It's the christian way to share one's bounty!
