This goal was, and still is, part of my overall journey of achieving weight loss and adopting a healthier lifestyle. Boy, what a journey that has been and continues to be. I've lost a whopping 27.2 pounds and it has taken me forever. I'm not one of those lose a couple of pounds or more a week kind of girl, I'm a lose it all in small increments kind of a girl. A good week is a pound or so, but mostly it comes off in tenths of a pound.....a little -.8 here and another -.2 there.
I was reminded recently that our goals, whatever they may be, don't occur in a smooth straight line. Weight loss isn't a downward escalator ride to your goal weight anymore than one reaches heaven by pushing an elevator button. The process is hard. It's frustrating and overwhelming. It's hard not to compare your personal journey to someone else's path. The trick is to remember there are peaks and valleys, highs and lows, and opposition in all things. If you can keep yourself pointed in the right direction, work hard, and never quit, you will eventually reach your destination!
Act as though and it shall be.
